A super moon

The moon was still out and large in the morning and I got this picture. I had posted online that I couldn't get a good picture the night before and one of my friends responded with this picture that they took through their telescope the night before.

Absoluely amazing! A super moon indeed!

The big 50

I got a lot of love for my 50th birthday...it started a day or two before with 2 dozen roses and the most beautiful note from Leslie Bachelder.

The roses were really tight when I first opened them, but they continued to open for days and were beautiful for about 2 weeks.

This was them the next day.

Greg ordered Cronuts and Kouign Amanns from Dominique Ansel's for me and they came in the day before my birthday. We invited a couple of close friends over late on the 16th and shared the deliciousness.

On my birthday morning, Emmit brought me a stash of Good & Plenty to start the day...that's a good start.

Sweet Emmit with Duke

The flowers were stunning by my birthday!

It doesn't get any better than a cronut for a birthday breakfast treat. I even shared some with our seminary class.

Greg and I both took the day off so we could just enjoy the day together.

A little Red Lobster lunch so I could enjoy clam chowder and biscuits.

We headed out to Radar Farms too.

Pumpkin donuts from Radar Farms!

Greg chilling in the back of the truck...

and my turn on the tractor!

The Moreys came by, brought me a treat, and sang me happy birthday.

We had an amazing moon that night. I tried to get a good picture, but it's so hard. We were on our way to the high school and this was the best I could get from the car.

We went to see Peter & the Starcatcher again and then caught a late dinner after the show.

After dinner and after Ava came home, we opened some presents with Andrew & Kayleigh on the phone. Ava made me this awesome pinch pot.

Andrew & Kayleigh gave me this little pot with a lid from Morocco. Greg got me some new earrings that I have wanted. I decided to save my cards for my birthday party in a few weeks.

I had a few more friends bring gifts over and show me some more love too. There were phone calls, text messages, and facebook posts too. I felt very loved and very taken care of...it was a beautiful way to hit the BIG 50!

4000 posts!

I have been blogging for close to 17 years and have just made my 4000th post. I have said many times that the blog is a labor of love for my family. I'm so glad we have this way to look back at all of the pictures and memories of the past 17 years. Here is to many more!

Big bunny

Earlier in the summer, I would see this little tiny bunny while I was working. It went the same way every day and it always caught my eye. The bunny isn't little tiny any more! Big bunny is now taking the same trip every day and enjoying the same bushes at the front of the house. It's amazing how much it has grown in a few months!

Skies on fire

It looked just like the skies were on fire...it was beautiful!

Peter & the Starcatcher

Ava is the hair and make-up guru! This is her first of two plays for her senior year.

On the cast & crew board!

She had some fun dying Josh's hair black for this play. It was a lot easier than turning it black each night.

Oh how we love this girl of ours!

Ava with her crew, plus a few...all with their mermaid blue lips!

Ava and her crew...so cute!

They did a great job with the play and as always, we loved being there to support Ava and the cast.

Northern Lights in Indiana

We were staying at the Sanchez's house during the wedding and we got lucky to be there when the Northern Lights were visable. We went outside together and could just see the lights...we were so excited!

We went back inside after about a half an hour. We checked outside again in another 30-45 minutes and were totally shocked to see the magnificent lights!

It was AMAZING! We were beyond excited and it was so fun to share it with the Sanchez family too. Amazing!
