Chester Bowl winter festival

We spent the better part of the day (and night) at Chester Bowl today. They were having their winter festival - games, food, activities, firworks at the end of the night and of course skiing. I worked in the concession stand for a few hours and by the time we got home, the kids were so tired that both Ava and Zach fell asleep on the couch! That's some good, hard playing!

Utah fun!

This is my favorite picture from our vacation! (I guess the pair really are my favorites). It gives a good little insight to the way the cousins got along...it was great!

Here is the play by play of all the great things we were able to do on vacation...
  • We flew in on Saturday and went to Beth and Rick's house, got settled in and then later that night Greg and I went to a party at Brit and Bridgette's house and were able to see just about every neighborhood friend from Draper - thanks again to Bridgette for switching the party to Saturday for us!
  • On Sunday we spent the main part of the day with Beth's family (the pyramid picture is from Sunday) and then went to Holly and Juston's house for a King Henry party. We had a great time and did a lot of cruise talking!
  • Monday we spent the day with Beth's family and our extended family. We had a few changes in plans because of holiday closings, but ended up having a fun day, visited my Grandpa Craig, went to his house for a bit and spent the evening at Lucy and Bob's house celebrating Bob's birthday with a great turn out from the Craig clan.
  • Tuesday I spent the day at Bridgette's house at a cooking class given by Benedetta Vitali. She is in the United States on a tour and had a few extra days and Bridgette arranged for her to fly to Utah and teach a 1 day class. I don't think she had any idea how crazy we would all be and how hard she would be working for her money...we made 20 different recipes that day!! It was the best Italian food I've ever had...awesome experience. Holly was able to come with me and so it was extra fun! After eating our weight in Italian food, we met Emy and Heather for cruise dress shopping! At least we know the dresses will fit us after eating a big buffet...Here's a picture of Benedetta:
  • On Wednesday I actually had to take Ava to the urgent care. She was up for a few hours in the night and when I took her in, she had a double ear infection - a really bad one! She's my first child to ever have an ear infections...next time I would know what to look for...yikes! Afterwards, we got the boys and met Mandy and her kids at Thanksgiving point. We had lunch and played at the farm. Then we headed back to our old neighborhood and spent time with friends and had dinner at our old faithful...Cafe Rio!
  • Thursday Beth took the day off of work and we met Grandpa Robinette and Jeri for lunch and then went down to BYU and went bowling, to the bookstore and to get treats. We ran a few errands and the kids played at home that night.
  • Friday Beth took the day off again and she and I went shopping in the morning for a few hours (it was so fun) and then we all packed up and went sledding in Park City! It was awesome. So, so much fun! That night we got a babysitter for the 8 kids and went out to dinner - just the adults!!
  • Saturday we all went to IHOP and then we were off...there were lots of tears...from young and old!
  • WHEW!!!
It was a great trip and it was everything we hoped it would be. We can't wait for the next time it works out to be there again!

Fly Frontier!

I don't think that I would have ever said that on Tuesday afternoon when they cancelled our flight for Saturday and rescheduled us for a 6:15 a.m. flight out of Minneapolis. I was pretty distressed at the thought of either leaving our house in the 2 a.m. range or having to get a hotel the night before. I was having a "that ain't right" moment. So, I decided to call Frontier and see if they were willing to do anything for us. After a few hours on the phone and being transferred to the right guy, he made a few calls and re-booked us on a United flight that left at 9:20 a.m. - much better! He also is sending us a $250 voucher for future travel. I couldn't have been happier...or so I thought!

Very late on Friday night I decided to check in for our flights and was delighted to find out he had us in 1st class!!! It was dreamy! So...fly Frontier!

I pity the fool who tries to beat me...

Tonight Marisa, Brian, and the tinies came over for dinner and games. Since none of us watch football, we figured it was a great night to play games instead of watching one! Marisa has been finding these great, obscure games at Salvation Army and this week brought the Mr. T game. It is kind of a glorified version of "war". We had fun playing and even more fun being overly excited about the game - I was especially over excited during my winning periods! Good times.

I'd never seen moonlight like this before...

The pictures don't really do it justice, but just take a look at the shadows in the back yard...this was at midnight!! It was the night of the "wolf moon" when the moon is at its closest and brightest of the year. It really was amazing. We had totally clear skies and with the snow, it reflected the light so much! You could see almost like it was daytime. Beautiful.

The cutest cake toppers!

I saw this craft when I was out celebrating Holly's birthday. Her neighbor had us over for a craft night and I saw this in her craft room...I had to knock it off...hers was a knock off too...we knock and knock!!

I donated these to ECFE for their fundraiser and will be making one for Ava for her birthday...I love them and so did she!
