A fun way to "read" 1 Nephi
Hank Smith posted this emoji version of 1 Nephi...you can follow along pretty easily if you are familiar with the story. Pretty fun!
Mission pictures
Here is another set of mission pictures that were posted on the FB page.
Here is Zach with a new member that he got to baptize...what a special occasion!
I love to see this boy of ours!
Skiing at Sundance
Andrew and Kayleigh went skiing at Sundance and sent us some pictures of their night...it's a beautiful place to ski!
We sure do love these little snow bunnies!
ILMEA Honor's All-State Choir
Ava was selected to be a part of the Honor's All-State Choir. She was invited to attend a 3 day event with a concert at the end. Here she is on day one!
This is the group of kids from her school that were in both the All-State Choir and the Honor's All-State Choir.
Here is the group in the Honor's All-State Choir with the guest conductor. They all had a good time attending classes and practicing...and hanging out, having meals together, and staying up way too late!
This was the post from the high school.
Dressed in their robes and ready to perform!
Ava is in the middle...
The Honor's All-State Orchestra, Choir, and Bands
I was able to get some good snapshots of Ava off of the jumbo-tron.
We happened to sit right behind Zach's friend Ethan at the concert. It was fun ot run into him!
The concert was amazing...you can definitely tell these are the top musicians in the state. It's like no other high school orchestra, choir, or band concert you've ever been too. It's really a fantastic display of talent!
Cora and Ava after the event. Ava had a really good time, but was definitely tired. She slept for a solid 11 hours when she got home. It was an amazing experience for her and I'm so glad she got to participate.
King Arthur cookies
My dad sent me a recipe for King Arthur Flour's recipe of the year. It was for a brown butter chocolate chip cookie. He knew he didn't want to take the extra steps in making them, but thought maybe I would. He was right!
They make a pretty yummy cookie - one I'll make for my parents the next time they come and visit!
50th Anniversary Party
I was asked to arrange the food for a 50th wedding anniversary and agreed. Luckily, Marilyn volunteered to help me on the day of the event and of course I had my best, right-hand man, Greg! The planning for an event like this is always a task, but I felt good about what was ordered and purchased and was ready for the event and the 200 people who I needed to feed.
Marilyn and me
I took a bunch of pictures with my iphone before the event started...
They had a great turn out and did a nice program before serving the food.
Their grandchildren played their song on their instruments and then they danced to their first dance from their wedding. It was very sweet.
The photographer also took some pictures of the food and sent them to me after the party. It was nice to get some that had really good lighting!
It was a great evening and I was glad that I could help them make it a special event. Happy anniversary to the Eames family!
