The butterfly nebula

This amazing nebula is over 2000 light years away and the wings span over 2 light years...quite the butterfly!

Dinner with the Mavroses

Greg and I went to dinner with Katie and Jeff at a really cool restaurant in Peoria. They transformed an old church into a restaurant...making for a super cool place to eat!

Great company, great food, and a great location...that's about as good as it gets!

Playla work day

We had our first Playla work day to start putting together some of our props. We had to assemble these letters and numbers to spell Happy 30th!

We are leaning way in to the 30th birthday theme and are doing a 1994 throw back. These lizzard keychains were all the rage, so we will have a station where you can make one...and these big guys will be hanging from the ceiling.

We make them by cutting up pool noodles into "beads" and then stringing them together. I think they turned out pretty fun.

2 projects down, and a bunch to go!

Knee high by the 4th of July

Or at least that's what the saying is. The farmers in our area would be super sad to have the corn only be knee high by the 4th. It looks a lot closer to 7'!

The 4th of July

Ava was with friends on the 4th, so Greg and I went to dinner and then watched fireworks from a great, little spot that we found in a parking lot. We actually watched from the car and had a great view. We could have fought the traffic and gotten closer, but this was perfect for us. A happy 4th of July!

Ministering birthday gifts

This year Ava and I are giving pumpkin bread to our ministering sisters on their birthdays. We had 2 in just 1 week and made a little bonus loaf for our house each time too. A yummy treat for us and to share!

Nod to Grease...

When the weather is nice, Greg and I love to go outside and play a little cribbage, have a drink, listen to music and just enjoy each other's company! Ahhh, those summer nights!

Stunning skies

Talk about an amazing backdrop to an evening walk!

Ava's arranging

Ava keeps her flowers and dries them to put on her photo frame. She had a big bunch from prom and decided to rearrange the ones she already had to make them look like this. I think it turned out beautifully! She has such a good eye! I love all of the memories on this - both the flowers and the pictures!
