Duluth is so crazy this year!

More pictures for Jeri

Jeri loves pictures of space (and so do I) and these are some I showed her during the last trip to Utah. I promised to get these printed and send them her way. They just arrived in the mail, so I just need to ship them her way.

Sam's mission call

Zach's rommmate Sam got his mission call this week! He is headed to Quito, Ecuador in June...so exciting!

A trip to Carmel & Ava's 16th Birthday

Ava wanted to go to Carmel and see the end of season show choir performance. We pulled some favors and got tickets! We got into town on Saturday afternoon and went to dinner with the Sanchezes before the show. It was as good as we hoped it would be...they really put an enormous amount of work into the performances, which is why they win nationals!

After the performance, Greg and I went to the store to get treats for Ava's birthday! Lindsey was so kind and offered to host a gathering at her house for Ava on Sunday night.

On Sunday, we got up and went to church and then came back to the house and just enjoyed some Sanchez family time. This was a picture I sent to Zach...he loves Ethan and I knew he would be happy to get a picture!

We bring Duke with us when we go to the Sanchezes. Rosie and Duke get along great, so it's no problem. Greg was just hanging with the puppies! Eventually, he decided it was nap time too.

We got to the Adam's hous about 6:30 and had a little time with just them before the rest of the group came over. Ava is pretty tall, but she seems short next to Brandon and Sammy!

Ava had a great group of friends come over and have ice cream sundaes and donuts. A bunch of our friends came too, so it was really fun to have all of the kids outside and then in the basement and all of the adults upstairs playuing games in the dining room...such a fun night!

People were very generous with Ava and brought her some fun gifts. I love that we could be here and celebrate her special day.

On Monday morning (Ava's actual birthday), there was a little miracle and school was cancelled in Carmel! It was our spring break, but not theirs...but the power went out at the school in Carmel and they had to cancel at the last minute! Luckily, Ava had decided to go to seminary with her friends and they found out there that there was no school. She was able to go out to breakfast with all of her friends for her birthday, instead of just coming home.

I had arranged to pick up an order of the pastries I wanted to try for the wedding brunch...they were great!

We tried the quiche that Andrew and Kayleigh picked out too. It should be a yummy brunch.

We spent Monday doing some shopping, hanging out, and then Ava's friends came back to the Sanchezes again that night. I think she had a really happy birthday.

On Tuesday, Ava and I met with Carla and Michelle at the venue to go over some of the details for the wedding. It was a good meeting and we got a lot of things figured out. I think everything will be really nice and that we will have a lot of fun.

Our last stop was to take a look at the cake that Andrew and Kayleigh picked out. Ava and I got a little treat while we were there too!

Ava had her last group of driving hours to get in, so she drove both ways to Carmel. Here she is on hour 3! She's a great driver...and a trooper...it's a long drive!

We had a great visit and Ava really got to spend a lot of time with her friends for her birthday. It was a special weekend and we are so grateful for the friends we have there. Happy birthday Ava...we love you!!

I've never wanted to live in North Carolina so desperately!

Until I got this invite from Ken and Kim...oh how I wish I could go to their Funko party!!!

Finishing up tasks and getting closer!

Night skiing part 2

Since we got the kids 2 nights of passes, they went again and sent us another series of pictures. I'm so glad they love to do things like this!

Merry Christmas kids!

Joshua Bassett 2.0

These aren't homeless people, this is Sophia and Ava waiting outside in 15 degree weather in Chicago to get into the standing room only Joshua Bassett concert. We gave Ava 4 tickets for her 16th birthday present and she wanted to make sure they had a good spot to see the concert. Anything for Joshua!

They finally got in and the pictures say it all!!

Those are some super happy girls! Happiest of birthdays to you Ava...we love you!!!
