Kayleigh went through the temple in preparation for her mission in November. She sent us this picture and it couldn't have made us happier for her. Congratulations on your special day Kayleigh!
Taking it to a new level
When we talk to Andrew we just talk, when Zach talks to Andrew they end up in outer space (among other things). They have fun, and send me good pictures, so it's perfect!
Love this boy
Colorstreet
Believe it or not, I "painted" my nails a few weeks ago with stickers. They are made of 100% nail polish that is almost set and finishes setting after applied. I was a little skeptical, but they really lasted. They aren't any faster than doing gel nails or any cheaper, so I'm not sure I'll make the switch, but they are cool. They have tons of colors and designs, so depending on what you wanted, they could be the way to go. I was pleasantly surprised!
A trip to Indy
We decided to go to Carmel/Indy for our anniversary weekend. We stayed with the Sanchezes and had a wonderful weekend. Sarah and I made a trip to Costco and found some treasures!
Ava braided my hair while we were there...for our anniversary dinner at Trader's Point. It was so delicious and we had the most perfect outdoor dinner weather!
The next morning, I got up and met Bindi and Susie for breakfast at the restaurant where Kayleigh works. We had a delicious meal and got to see Kayleigh...so great!
We did a little shopping after breakfast! Oh how I love these girls!
That night we did an outdoor movie night so the kids could get together with their friends. The adults sat up on the deck and the kids watched the movie (or didn't) down below.
It was a wonderful weekend and a dreamy way to celebrate our 21st anniversary!
Serenaded by the Sanchezes
A couple that paints together...
Someone in our ward put out the call for one of her friends that is trying to sell her house and needed help. Greg and I were free, so we volunteered. When we got to the house, we realized there was a room that needed to be painted, so we told them we would take care of it and they could work on something else.
We got it done and had a nice couple of hours helping someone we had never met and will probably never see again. Sometimes that's the best way to spend a Saturday.
Getting closer
Zach keeps hoping he is going to pass Greg, but so far, Greg has the edge. Zach is getting closer...but I think Andrew has finished growing and is just shy of Greg. We'll see if Zach can pass either of them up!
Cooking with new friends
Moving during the pandemic has made making connections pretty difficult. So, I decided to get creative and try to do something social, while being socially distant. I put a post out on the RS FaceBook page to see if anyone wanted to join me for a cooking class. I have the herbs, tomatoes, and recipe...I just need the people! I figured it would either attract social people or people who love to cook...and I can work with either of those groups!
It's always a little nerve racking to put yourself out there like that, but I had 12 women (all the spots I offered) take me up on it. So...then I just had to get ready and teach the class!
Beautiful fresh herbs!
Cleaned and ready to pack up...
Next come the tomatoes...
Then I packaged everything up and waiting for everyone to do a drive by pick up before the class started. Everyone got a bag of herbs and garlic...
and a can of tomatoes and the recipe. We met at 7:00 on Zoom and had a lot of fun cooking together. I was really, really happy with how it turned out. I will probably do something else - especially if the pandemic keeps going on like it has - but this was a great way to get my footing and find some new friends.
Missionary conference
Lucky for us, Andrew's mission president and his wife post on a FaceBook page. It's really fun to see some pictures and get an inside look!
Bring on the flooding
Ava has been wanting to learn how to flood cookies and today was the day! Step 1...start with some delicious short bread!
Step 2...make the icing
Step 3...pipe and flood!
Step 4...decorate!!!
Step 5...eat and enjoy!
A little seminary love
Since we are on Zoom 4 days a week, we have to print out anything that we want to give the students for class beforehand. And...since noone just wants a bag full of seminary handouts, I put in some rice krispy treats too! You've got to show the love when you want the kids to get up every morning!
