Take 2

The CHS concert was rescheduled for the same night as Ava's choir concert.  So, after Ava performed, we hurried over to see the high school girls perform.  There are a dozen or so Carmel choirs and they all have their own feel.  At the end of every year, all of the choirs come out at once and sing the final song together.  It's an impressive amount of people...

If you look carefully, you'll see there are rows of people in front of the stage too.  They said there are over 500 students in choirs!

Here is a little clip of the song - it is so powerful in person!  It was a great concert and I was glad it still worked out for me to see the girls perform.

Ava's end of year concert

The 6th grade choir

Ava is on the top row in the middle...

The last number they did had a dance routine to it.  Ava practiced and practiced and did a really great job!

They all looked and sounded great!  Such a fun way to end the year of choir!

Jayden came to support her friends...what a cute group of girls!!  Great job Ava!!

Graduation baking

These cookies are a little too labor intensive to make for the grad party (since none of the other moms have an interest in this type of cookie making), but it didn't stop me from wanting to make some for Andrew!

Mission accomplished!

Vogue

I went to another event for a Laurel this week...tis the season...this time it was to Sienna's fashion show.  She is in the fashion design classes at CHS and it was fun to go and see what she made...she was also the model!

She did a great job constructing and modeling!

Ava really had fun at the show and thinks it would be a great class to take when she gets to HS!

Take 1

I went to see the girls from the Ward that are in the CHS choir, but a huge thunderstorm came through a little bit before and when we got to the school, the power was out and they were turning people away.  I had already gotten flowers, so I found the girls and gave them out and took pictures anyway!  They were happy and so was I - now we just have to see if they are going to reschedule the concert...

Camp shorts!

I am working on some iron-on vinyl for decorating camp shorts.  It is a destination theme and each Ward picked a place...ours is Hawaii...

The girls had iron-ons, fabric, paint pens and embellishments to start making shorts for camp...fun times!

Soccer and Instagram

The Burkes called us last minute when their neighbor offered them front row, center seats to the Indy 11 soccer game.  We were excited to accept!

They used to play in an outside stadium, but now they play at Lucas Oil Stadium.  Since the weather was so nice, they opened the roof and the sides of the stadium...it was awesome!

Here are the 4 of us...

Well, that's what we looked like until Instagram got opened...here I am with a "woman" filter...

Yikes!  And Greg with a "woman" filter...

Uh oh...now I have the "man" filter!

Greg too!!

We had a lot of fun and the team won too...a great night at the game!

The height of Spring

If you look closely in the middle of this tree, you will see a nest and the little silhouette of a bird...

Make that 3 birds!

The lilac bush is in bloom...along with many other flowers...

I absolutely love this stage of spring and always wish it could last a bit longer!

Cake creations

The Beehive class re-created an activity we held before almost all of the girls were in the YW program.  They took scripture stories and decorated cakes to represent them...they had a lot of fun and shared some great stories!
