Blog love

I made the decision years and years ago that I would keep a blog for our family. I haven't always been timely in my posts, but I have never skipped posting any events for over 14 years now. I don't always love the feeling that I need to post (especially if I'm behind), but I absolutely love having all of our memories at our fingertips. The kids will ask me for pictures some times and I can always send them to the blog to find them...whether it's something big like Christmas or something small like a school project. It's a labor of love that we all cherish!

Tarek, Sarah & the twins

We got the news from Tarek (Andrew and Zach's first guitar teacher from Duluth) that he and his wife had twins! We are so excited for them and know what a wonderful dad Tarek will make! Congratulations to Tarek & Sarah!

Susie and CeCe

I drove to Indianapolis on Wednesday to go to a CeCe Winans concert with Susie, Bindi, and Rose. It was to celebrate Susie's birthday and we definitely did celebrate!

CeCe was amazing...amazing!

Our seats were fantastic...third row!!

After the concert, we went to the IronWorks Hotel and had a really nice dinner in our room. Bindi and Rose stayed until about 1:00 and then Susie and I stayed the night. It was such a great night celebrating Susie! Happiest of birthdays Susie...I love you!

A very stormy night!

We had a tornado watch on Sunday night and it was a doozy of a storm. I heard the glass break at one point and was just happy to realize it was outside glass and not a window or glass door. We went out at 1:30 in the morning when the storm had mostly passed, but when we saw the back yard, we decided to wait until morning to clean up. It actually took us most of the morning...things were a mess.

Luckily, the damage was relatively minimal - all things considered. It was just a big mess - especially the glass! But, we got it all cleaned up and justs need to do some work on the trees and bushes - and of course find a new table top!

This was the high school parking lot the next morning...the ducks definitely thought it was a nice, new pond!

Things were much better than they could have been, but it was definitely a very stormy night.

Macaron love from Maggie

Maggie Rowley has gotten really, really good at making delicious macarons and we are lucky enough to get some of the love when she makes them! It's good to be seminary teachers!! We love Maggie and we love the macaron love she shows us too!

Supporting Cora

We went to see Cora at the band competition last weekend. It was a really great program and it was fun to be there cheering her on!

Ava and Cora...two cuties!

Ava and Kevin are pretty darn cute too! I'm glad Ava could go and support Cora (and Kevin) and that we could too...it was a fun and entertaining night!

Making the most of the drive

I was asked to teach a class at the Stake R.S. meeting last Saturday in Peoria. I car pooled with Tresa and Alyssa and we took the back roads home so we could stop at some great places!

Here is Alyssa holding all of the ice cream cones so we could get buckled up!

And then we stopped at Brakers and got a bunch of delicious breads and treats! We really made the most out of the drive!

Skater boys

Okay, well, ice skaters! Zach and some of his friends enjoying one of the many Provo activities!

Make that skater boys and girls!

Playla!

After months of preparation and planning, it was time for Playla!

Here are some couches I made with some building blocks in the sling shot bowling room...

A look at some of the ceiling decorations...

Here is a painting activity...

The slingshot bowling set up...

The items in the tubes were replaced with paper money for the fundraiser...not super subtle!

So fun to have trikes for adults!

The set up for silent disco!

The Rivian truck had their camping cooking setup and was one of the food vendors...

More outdoor spaces...

Bubbles!

The most delicious pumpkin doughnuts!

I got to have one before the event opened...first doughnut of the night (for the event and for me)! THere were about a dozen food vendors that were getting set up and ready. Now it was time to bring on the people and start playing!

Here is Hailey Morey playing giant kerplunk with us!

A little thank you for the planning committee was on the screens around the event - we didn't plan that part :)

Dancing with the Moreys in the silent disco!

Racing the tricycles!

We went down to try the penny boats near the end of the night, so we were really proud of ourselves when we got on the leader board! Woohoo!

A couple of Zach's friends were volunteering at the event, so I snapped this picture and sent it to Zach!

Hailey made it to the TOP!

We did a whole bunch of shaking to make our homemade ice cream! Then we added rootbeer and had a delicious float!

The Moreys sent this to me at the end...Hailey was on there twice!

On the way out of the event, I took this picture of the completed paint by numbers! I love how they turned out...so fun!

Everything went just as we planned and I felt like it was a really great event. They met their fundraising goal, so they were super happy too! I am glad I was asked to be on the committee and if asked back, I'd be happy to help again next year! We had a lot of fun at the event too, which you don't always get to do as a planner, so that was a special added bonus! Check Playla off of my list!
