Well, the new year came in with style. We woke up to everything being covered in a sheet of ice. It's hard to walk outside right now and Duke seemed very confused by the 1/4" thick blades of ice grass, but it is beautiful too.
Ringing in the New Year
After a week of lots of relaxation and family time (and quarantining to make it possible), the Sanchez family and Emma Parker came to join us for New Year's Eve. I didn't take lots of pictures, but we had lots of fun. We watched movies, played games, stayed up until 6 am talking and laughing, and ultimately had a great New Year's Eve night! We always love to be with friends, but it was especially wonderful this year. We are so grateful for their friendship and for spending the holiday together.
It wouldn't be New Year's Eve at our house without some treats...
Love all these kids!
These cute girls decided to work on a charcuterie board...and it was a beauty!
We played some games too...
Laughed and rang in the new year. Happy New Year!!!
Breaking records
Only family records, but still! That was a crazy opening hand I was dealt...it had to be documented!
Masking in style
Ava was asked to speak in church, so we attended for only the second time in about 9 months. Only the speakers and their families can attend in our ward, so it's a very small group. There were 17 of us spread out. I thought it was a good opportunity to break out my "nice" mask...we've got to find the little, silly joys in the middle of this mess! She did a really great job and it was definitely nice to be there and watch her.
Well, maybe a few things don't speak for themselves...
Here are a few videos...the first of Duke enjoying Christmas and the second of Ava and Zach making the most of Ava's new keyboard.
Then, somehow Ava got Greg to agree to letting her try makeup on him. He is not a beautiful woman, but he is a good sport!
This picture takes a little more explanation too. Andrew made his Christmas call to us from the E.R. where he was with his companions getting tested for Covid. He is doing well and luckily has had mild symptoms, but he and his companions are in quarantine for the next 2 weeks. That's one way to ring in the new year!
Christmas Day 2020
We had a wonderful day...filled with love, giving, and happiness. The pictures speak for themselves...
What a merry Christmas!
